International singer Seal spoke with Ellen and told her about the difficult decision that he and Heidi have reached to separate.

KLUM'S FAMILY 'VERY SAD' ABOUT SEAL SPLIT

HEIDI KLUM's family is "very sad" about her shock split from SEAL, according to the supermodel's father.

Reports that the stars, thought to be one of Hollywood's strongest couples, were set to divorce emerged on Saturday (21Jan12), and they confirmed the separation on Sunday (22Jan12).

In a statement, the couple declared, "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate."

And the news has stunned Klum's family - her father Gunther tells Usmagazine.com, "We are very sad."

The German beauty married the Brit in 2005 and they have three children together - daughter Lou and sons Henry and Johan. The Kiss From a Rose hitmaker also adopted Klum's eldest daughter Leni from a previous relationship.
