Music Panel – Vicks Limelight Lounge

Competition overview

This overview forms part of the general Terms and Conditions for “Music Panel – Vicks Limelight Lounge” (competition). The promoter is the Australian Radio Network. The “Music Panel – Vicks Limelight Lounge” promotion will air on Mix101.1 Melbourne.

Listeners will be invited to participate in the Mix101.1 Music Panel, by either joining (if they are not a previous member) or by logging in (if they are a current member) and participating in a Mix101.1 Music Panel survey, during the contest promotional period, beginning on air at 6am Thursday 5th August until 4pm Saturday 14th August 2010. Entrants will have to log onto www.mix1011.com.auand participate in a Mix101.1 Music Panel survey for their chance to win. Winners will be selected from the pool of valid entries entirely at random.  The contestant must be available to be awarded the prize by phone at the time of the announcement to be eligible to win.

Across the duration of the promotion, 61 x winners will be selected to win a double pass to the Mix10101 & Vicks Limelight Lounge starring Stan Walker on the night of Friday 20th August (location TBC).

 

  • General
  • The Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) “Music Panel – Vicks Limelight Lounge”(Competition) giveaways begins at 9am Thursday 5th August 2010 and runs until 5pm Saturday 14th August 2010. Subject to changes made necessary as a result of Victorian Legislation unless extended or withdrawn earlier by ARN in its absolute discretion and will be broadcast on Mix101.1 Melbourne.
    1. Listeners will be eligible to register to participate in the “Music Panel – Vicks Limelight Lounge” competition from 6am Thursday 5th August 2010 until 4pm Saturday 14th August 2010.
  • The Competition will be conducted in accordance with these Competition Rules.  Participation in this competition.
  • ENTRY DETAILS
  • Listeners to Mix101.1 will be invited to register as a by entering online at www.mix1011.com.au
    1. Entrants will be drawn at random from the pool of valid entries received across the promotional period.
    2. All winners will be awarded their by phone and musttake their prize in accordance with the terms and conditions set out as part of entry of this competition. Prizes are non transferable & profiteering from the prize is a breach of supply and action will be taken if misused. Winners will be notified by phone and in writing. Mix101.1 takes no responsibility for any prizes that go missing in the post, and are under no obligation to replace or provide a make good in this instance.
    3. This competition is only open to people who are 18yrs or over. Winners and their guests must be over 18 to attend.
    4. Once a participant has been awarded a double pass to the Mix101.1/Vicks Limelight event, they will be ineligible to win again.
  • By participating in this Competition, all entrants agree to be bound by the terms of the Competition Rules.
  • THE COMPETITION PROCESS
  • The competition consists of 1 segment
    1. Selection of participants as detailed in the ‘competition overview’ section 1 of these Terms and Conditions
  • The prizes awarded to the Major Winners in Victoria consist of:

 

  1. MAJOR PRIZE WINNERS – 61winners will selected at random and awarded a double pass to the Mix101.1/Vicks Limelight Lounge on the night of Friday 20th August (location TBC).Each prize is valued at $80.  The total prize pool is $4,880.  

The prize value is accurate as at the promotion date. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value after that date. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable. If for any reason the prize is not available, the Promoter is under no obligation to provide a make good.

*Mix101.1 and its associated agencies and companies shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize/s, except for any liability which cannot be excluded bylaw (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law)

*Mix 101.1 accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. Where the operation of the promotion results in, for GST  purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants agree to follow the Australian Taxation Office's stated view that where the parties are at arm's length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.

  • The decision of ARN will be final and conclusive and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
  • Any person who has won one or more prizes with a total value of more than $1,000 from the Promoter, or any radio station owned by the Promoter (including any of the Radio Stations), in any promotion within 30 days of the commencement date of this Promotion is ineligible to enter.
  • ARN, its employees and their families and its agencies, affiliates, sponsors, sub-sponsors, representatives and their families are not eligible to enter the Competition.
  • All prizes are accepted entirely at the risk of the contestants and ARN excludes all warranties in connection with any prize (including representations as to merchantability and fitness for purposes) to the extent permitted by law.
  • Any special conditions associated with the cash or prizes on offer will be announced during the recording of the Segments.  The conditions must be adhered to in order to claim the cash or prize.
  • ARN, its employees, agencies, affiliates, sponsors and representatives are not responsible for defective prizes or misuse of any prize, or for any claims, liability, loss or damage (whether foreseeable or not) arising out of or in connection with this Competition, whether caused by the negligence of any of the aforementioned or not.
  • Winners are responsible for any and all taxes payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received.

 

  • TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION

5.1             If due to a technical difficulty with a telephone line, ISDN line, mobile telephone or other technical instrument critical to the broadcast prevents the competition from proceeding; the decision of ARN is absolute and final. No discussion will be entered in to.

  • ARN’s Decision is Final
  • ARN’s decision in respect of the selection of participants is binding and conclusive and can not be challenged on the grounds that ARN failed to act reasonably, fairly, in good faith or otherwise in accordance with the principles of procedural fairness. ARN’s decision will remain binding and conclusive notwithstanding that it can be demonstrated that ARN made a decision that was wrong, based on a factual error or an irrelevant or irrational consideration. It is not ARN’s policy to enter into negotiations with listeners or that may challenge a decision made by ARN.
  • Promotional Activities
  • Each participant acknowledges and agrees that:
    1. he or she may be required by ARN, in its absolute discretion, to:
      1. participate in promotional activities for the benefit of ARN (including participating in a sound recording, photograph, video or film session); and
      2. that he or she will not, without the prior written consent of ARN (which may be given or withheld in its absolute discretion) participate in any other media activities, promotions or events for the purpose of or which involve discussion, commenting on, expressing a view or giving an account of the Competition, ARN, its related bodies corporate or the operations of ARN and its related bodies corporate. 
    2. in promotional activities referred to in condition 7.1 (a)(i) and (ii), above, he/she will express a positive view of ARN and its operations and refrain from expressing a negative or disparaging view of ARN, its related bodies corporate or the operations of ARN or its related bodies corporate.
  • Each participant acknowledges and agrees that ARN has the right to use any materials generated in connection with Suburban Showdown in any medium and in any manner it sees fit.
  • Notification
  • The major winners will be notified by phone and in writing of any prizes they are entitled to on the day of winning.
  • Withdrawal
  • Notwithstanding any other condition of these Competition Rules, ARN reserves the right to withdraw the Competition at any time and for any reason whatsoever with the prior approval of the Victorian Commission For Gambling Regulation. ARN shall not be liable in any way or for any consequence of withdrawing the Competition.
